#01 Meditation: Liberate Your Mind w/ Shayla Stonechild.

 

Tansi, Hello, to all my relatives. My name is Shayla Oulette Stonechild. As a Mètis and Nehiyaw woman I am excited to bring forth practices for you to reclaim your power. The Matriarch Movement focuses on amplifying Indigenous voices and providing wellness workshops that focus on interweaving meditation, movement and medicine. 

When I say medicine, I mean reclaiming an Indigenous worldview. A worldview that is based on three factors - one being respect, two being reciprocity and three, reclaiming a relationship based approach to ourselves and the world around us. 

Meditation is a tool for the mind that allows you to awaken to your own potential. A full potential that already exists within yourself, you may have just forgotten. I am simply a guide for you to awaken to your own truth.

Intention setting is a great tool to adopt new healthy habits to your day to day lives, by grabbing a journal, write 3 intentions you have for the day:
Example:
1. I intend to manifest happiness naturally.
2. I intend to love unconditionally.
3. I intend to be compassionate.

 

For today's practice I invite you to take a moment and thank yourself for being here today, start by making yourself comfortable; find a blanket, or bolster to sit on. Start the video whenever you are ready, enjoy:
